Music Meets Fishing: Tom Busby Lights Up the 31st Flathead Classic
What is there to be said about Tom Busby?
It was only a few weeks ago that the 2025 Flathead Classic was up in the air. “Will there even be a competition this year?” was a question that plagued the minds of many. With an incredible community effort though, we successfully launched registration night this past Tuesday.
It was no ordinary Flathead Classic though. Last year was a massive year for us - but somehow even still, we exceeded that. At the heart of Registration Night, it was the music that stole the show.
Australia’s own, Tom Busby was a massive part of that. Free entry to the event allowed any and all to come and witness in the spectacle that was his performance. From the very first strum of his guitar, Tom’s presence electrified the air. Raw power and authenticity carried across the grounds, and we were instantly hooked. In classic Busby style, he delivered a show that struck the perfect balance of celebration and emotion.
Anglers, families, sponsors and volunteers alike gathered for a night that felt bigger than fishing. Tom Busby’s appearance reminded us that the Flathead Classic isn’t only about competition on the water, but about community - moments of connection, laughter and shared joy.
His skill, passion and charisma on stage set the tone for the days of competition ahead, adding a whole new layer of excitement and spirit to the 31st year of this iconic event.
On behalf of the entire Flathead Classic team: we extend our most sincere thanks to Tom Busby for lending his incredible talent and energy to the Classic. His performance wasn’t just a highlight of the night; it was a milestone in the history of the event. As the competition continues and anglers take to the water, one thing is certain: the music, the memories and the magic of Tom Busby’s performance will echo long after the final lines are reeled in.
