The 2025 Gold Coast Flathead Classic wrapped up in spectacular fashion, with three brand-new Quintrex boats powered by Suzuki outboards awarded to this year’s major prize winners. The atmosphere inside the Northern Pavilion was electric as competitors, sponsors, and supporters watched the highly anticipated junior and senior major draws unfold.
“The prize draw is always a standout moment,” said Danny Sands, President of the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club. “It’s the culmination of months of hard work, incredible competition, and the backing of industry leaders like Surf Coast Marine, Quintrex, and Suzuki Marine. Their continued support is what helps make the Flathead Classic the ultimate fishing event.”
The junior major prize draw captured hearts as young anglers eagerly waited for their shot at glory — a fitting reward for their enthusiasm and dedication throughout the tournament. The senior major draw followed, raising the energy even higher as the final names were revealed and the keys to the boats were handed over.
“It’s a proud moment every year to see these boats go to deserving anglers,” said Simon Wyatt from Surf Coast Marine. “Quintrex and Suzuki Marine deliver the performance and reliability that Australian fishos demand — and we’re proud to keep that tradition strong at the Flathead Classic.”
Now in its 31st year, the Gold Coast Flathead Classic continues to push boundaries in competitive, catch-and-release fishing — uniting seasoned anglers, families, and industry partners in a four-day event that celebrates community, sustainability, and the sport itself.
With over $450,000 in prizes, hundreds of teams on the water, and three boats driving away with new owners, 2025 has set the benchmark for what’s to come.
